Pierfrancesco Favino recites Shakespeare and Leopardi on the pedestrian crossing, in front of stopped motorists: «A scene that will remain in the annals of Italian television».
Pierfrancesco Favino, guest of “Viva Rai 2!” he went on a mission for Fiorello, starting from a traffic light on Lungotevere Diaz: first with a skull in his hand, in reference to Shakespeare. Then, when the red light came on, he moved to the pedestrian crossing complete with a lectern and started reciting Leopardi’s ‘L’Infinito’. A scene also replicated in the second instance, complete with the collection of ‘offerings’: “Culture pays” joked Favino after collecting three euros from a motorist stopped at the traffic lights.
Finally, Favino also joked about the controversy of American actors playing Italian characters, after the case of Adam Driver in ‘Ferrari’. “It’s as if we took Boldi to play Bush” was Fiorello’s closing line, while Favino’s ‘study’ was to interpret the Italian anthem to the music of the American one, ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’.
