South Indian actress Kaniha is all set to release ‘Perfume’ in the lead role. Directed by director Haridas, who has directed more than 20 Malayalam films, the film will be released in Kerala on November 18. Pratap Pothan, Tiny Tom, Devi Ajith and Praveena are the other important characters. The background of the perfume is the crises and hardships that city life creates in the life of a housewife.
The film discusses how intense the influence of the city is on a woman who unexpectedly has to live in the city, and the challenges and impact on her life as she succumbs to the temptations of the city. The film captures some of the encounters and friendships that happen in her life in the city and the helplessness that ensues when it turns out to be a trap.
Director Haridas said that Perfume takes a serious approach to modern life’s hollowness, boasting and explosions of life. It not only shows the crises in a woman’s life but also her survival, this theme which has a great impact on the family audience and youngsters is dressed up as a complete entertainer. The film is produced by Mothi Jacob Kodiyat and Rajesh Babu K Shuranad under the banner of Mothi Jacob Productions, Walk Media and Nandanamudra Films.
The songs and background music of this film have been given a lot of importance by Rajesh Babu K Sooranad. Last year’s Film Critics Award for Best Female Singer went to KS Chitra and Best Singer Award to PK Sunilkumar for the songs Neelavanam Thalamenti and Sharayet Thethet in the film. The film was shot in and around Kozhikode.
