JAKARTA – A politician Perindo Party Tama S Langkun questioned the results of the examination of the decision application submitted by a student from Solo, Almas Tsaqibbirru Re A. In case Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 which discussed the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates.

In this case, Tama felt that the prestige of the Constitutional Court (MK) had decreased after granting the request of students who only had the capital to admire Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Mayor of Solo.

“One of the results of the examination is that there is legal standing, for example a student who later admitted to being an admirer of the mayor of Solo passed,” said Tama in a Polemic discussion on MNC Trijaya FM, Saturday (4/11/2023).

Meanwhile, he once submitted a judicial review but it was not accepted by the Constitutional Court, because of its strict legal standing. “Meanwhile, in our experience we often submit judicial reviews to the Constitutional Court, for example yesterday we submitted a judicial review and the issue of legal standing was very strict and one of our considerations was why it was not submitted and accepted because it was a matter of legal standing,” said Tama.

“So, in principle, the Constitutional Court has really lost its dignity when it carries out processes related to reviewing laws,” he added.

First of all, this is very dangerous for democracy and the constitution in Indonesia. He hopes that the MKMK will immediately decide on the results of the investigation into the MK’s decision. “In my opinion, this is something that MKMK’s decision must be hastened into,” he said.
