Cleared for publication: Sergeant Major Amir Khoury is the policeman who was killed tonight (Tuesday) in the shooting attack in Bnei Brak, and Yaakov Shalom, a resident of the city and a father of five, was also killed by the terrorist. In addition to them, three others lost their lives in the incident.

Maj. Gen. Amir Khoury, 32, of the Galilee Crane, was evacuated from the scene to Beilinson Hospital in critical condition after seeking contact with the scene and neutralizing the terrorist, where he was pronounced dead. He is survived by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Commissioner of Police, Chief of Staff Jacob SaturnSpoke tonight with Sergeant A., the policeman who first arrived at the scene of the attack together with Sergeant Amir Khoury, and thanked him: “You are heroes! Thanks to them, the lives of many civilians were saved.”

Afterwards, Saturn also spoke with Amir’s father, Jeris Khoury. He expressed his sorrow at the heavy mourning that befell the family, adding: “Alongside the great tragedy it is important for me to tell you that your son saved the lives of many citizens tonight. Your son tonight became a legacy and memory of heroism for an entire country.”

As you may recall, five people were killed in a shooting attack that lasted to two different arenas in Bnei Brak and started around 20:00. MDA crews who were called to the scene were forced to determine the deaths of the four and evacuated to Beilinson Hospital a police officer from the motorcycle team who sought contact in the arena, a 40-year-old man who was fatally injured, where he was pronounced dead.

27-year-old Diah Amrasha, a processor, is the terrorist who carried out the murderous attack in Bnei Brak. He was previously imprisoned in Israel, and worked as an illegal resident at one of the construction sites in the city.
