It is known worldwide that the communist dictatorship in China does not respect the religious freedom of citizens, but not only that. According to information from the organization ChinaAid, not even those who are in a hospital bed have their lives respected. This is the case of Pastor Ru Zongren.
This is because, according to the organization, the religious leader who is from Lixin county, in Anhui province, remained handcuffed for five hours while undergoing hemodialysis due to kidney failure.
Ru Zongren’s health was seriously impaired after he was injured by Chinese authorities in 2015, when agents of China’s dictatorship demolished his church building on May 19 of that year.
Since then, the pastor has had kidney failure, requiring recurrent hemodialysis. This time, on July 30th, while he was undergoing the procedure at a local hospital, communist government agents came to his bedside to handcuff him.
Second ChinaAid, the truculent reaction against the leader of the Chengxi Christian Church was due to the fear of the authorities that he would petition about the 20th National Congress held in China.
Only after hours of hemodialysis, handcuffed, did the authorities release Pastor Ru, after seeing that he was very weak.

Ranking 16th on Open Doors’ worldwide list of religious persecution, China has escalated its authoritarianism against Christians who do not bow to the Communist Party’s ideological dictatorship.
“Surveillance in China is among the most oppressive and sophisticated in the world, and Christian leaders are particularly vulnerable to persecution, including imprisonment or, in a small number of cases, kidnapping,” it says the organization.
