According to the American space agency NASA, the Perseverance rover has begun searching for signs of life on Mars.

According to Abigail Allwood, chief researcher at PIXL at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover has completed testing the devices on its robotic arm and can now begin its main mission – to search for signs of ancient life on the Red Planet.

“By flexing its 7-foot mechanical arm, the rover tests sensitive detectors and records their scientific readings. In addition to analyzing rocks with X-rays and ultraviolet light, the rover will zoom in on tiny segments of the rock surface that may indicate past microbial activity.” – she explained.
