jpnn.comDUMAI – Pertamina Group through its subholding PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) – Dumai Unit and Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) through its subholding is running the Independent Energy Village (DEB) program by building solar power plants (PLTS) to support energy needs in village communities.
As developed in the Sehati Group, one of the community groups fostered by KPI has succeeded in cultivating lettuce and mustard greens using hydroponic planting media.
This group is able to produce tens of kilograms of vegetables in one month from each group member’s ‘Green House’.
This group is a maternal and child health group (Sehati) from Tanjung Palas Village, Dumai Timur District, Dumai City.
“Since 2022, precisely in November, we have started cultivating hydroponic plants thanks to the encouragement and guidance provided by PT KPI Unit Dumai,” said Yani, one of the members of the Sehati group as a hydroponic activist.
Through hydroponic cultivation, Yani feels many benefits, starting from fulfilling daily food needs, strengthening nutrition in the Sehati group’s posyandu activities to helping the economy by around IDR 1 million every month.
