The emergency rooms of the Pertuis hospital (Vaucluse) were closed this Monday and resumed their activity this Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Only vital emergencies were taken care of by caregivers. The decision was taken following an insufficient number of doctors in the department, indicates France Blue Vaucluse.
This is not the first time that a measure of this type has been put in place. It is not the last either since the emergency rooms will be closed again for 24 hours between Thursday October 26 and Friday October 27 then Sunday October 29 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Roger Pellenc, mayor of Pertuis and vice-president of the hospital board of directors, was optimistic.
He mentioned increasing numbers from mid-November, when emergency doctors return from the leave that the administration had asked them to take in October and early November. “We will have to find doctors to plug the holes, otherwise the situation will happen again,” said the mayor.
