Football Federation Takes Action Against Players Involved in Arequipa Fight
August 10, 2024 – In response to the recent fight between players of Universitario and Melgar, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has announced disciplinary action against eight footballers involved.
The federation stated that an investigation found the players – Brian Blando, Pablo Lavandeira, Jefferson Cáceres, FBC Melgar, Aldo Corzo, Alex Valera, Aamet Calderón, Yuriel Celi, and Jorge Murrugarra – had violated league regulations during the incident following Merengue’s victory in Series 1 2024.
The Disciplinary Commission has given the players a maximum of three days to present their defense and supporting evidence regarding the allegations.
Additionally, the Commission addressed the issue of punctuality among referees and delegates, emphasizing the league’s demand for greater adherence to their duties.
