LIMA, (Xinhua) – The President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, inaugurated the ninth edition of the International Exhibition of Technology for Defense and Disaster Prevention (Sitdef Peru 2023), where 27 countries exhibit the latest technological advances for defense and deal with natural disasters.
“The IX International Exhibition of Technology for Defense and Disaster Prevention, which we inaugurate today, will allow the attention of the defense industry in the Latin American and world region to be focused on Peru,” the president stressed during her participation in the opening of this fair that will take place until May 21 at the Army Headquarters, in Metropolitan Lima.
It is one of the “most important exhibitions” in Latin America and is considered “the second best in the continent that promotes the modernization of the Armed Forces and police,” he added.
For his part, Defense Minister Jorge Chávez said that Sitdef Peru 2023 contributes “significantly” to strengthening national defense and security, the economy and the culture of disaster risk management.
Sitdef Peru 2023 brings together suppliers and experts in security, defense and disaster prevention, with official delegations, operational users, purchasing managers, research offices, investors, politicians and the media to observe the evolution of technology at a global level. world.
