Peruvian MP hails HM the King’s insightful vision in modernising Morocco

Lima – Peruvian parliamentarian, former president of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Peruvian Congress, Ernesto Bustamante, praised the insightful vision of HM King Mohammed VI in the modernization of Morocco.

“Morocco has experienced extraordinary development over the past 25 years,” Mr. Bustamante said in a statement to MAP on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day.

Since his enthronement, the Sovereign “has played a key role in Morocco’s positioning on the international scene,” he noted, mentioning in this context the major infrastructure projects that contribute to the continental and international influence of the Kingdom, like the Tangier Med port, a “huge success” on the world maritime map.

Mr. Bustamante noted that “the economic development and commercial positioning of Morocco are the most important tools of Moroccan diplomacy, because they allow to project the image of Morocco as a space of development and economic growth. From then on, it becomes easy to build bridges of friendship with other countries.”

“This dynamic has shown to what extent HM King Mohammed VI has been the driving force that has made Morocco what it has become today,” said Mr. Bustamante, who chairs the Peru-Morocco parliamentary friendship group.

Looking back on the visits he made to the Kingdom and the progress observed first-hand, particularly in the Southern Provinces, Mr. Bustamante assured that the future port of Dakhla “could serve as a projection point towards South America.”
