One of the functions of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) is to bring charges, and the Kremlin cannot interfere in this, said Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. So he commented on the statement of the head of the TFR Alexander Bastrykin that the rapper Morgenstern (Alisher Valeev), “in fact, sells drugs on social networks.”
“This prerogative – to bring accusations, supported by evidence, arguments, is the sole prerogative of the Investigative Committee. This is the function of the Investigative Committee, we cannot interfere with the implementation of these functions, ”said Mr Peskov during a press call.
Alexander Bastrykin did not explain what his accusations against Morgenstern were based on. The head of the TFR said that the rapper “involves a huge number of young people in his sphere of communication.”
Morgenstern’s lawyer fears that Bastrykin’s subordinates may perceive his words as a call to action.
In June, the rapper was fined 100 thousand rubles. after complaining about the content of his clips “Rose Wine-2” and Family. In November, the TFR began checking Morgenstern’s video “Pablo” after an appeal from a certain citizen Novikov, who saw in the text of the song of the same name a tendency for adolescents to use drugs. The punishment under this article can be up to 15 years in prison.
