Peskov: payments to pensioners and the military will not accelerate inflation

by time news

The Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the government are taking sufficient measures to curb inflation, so the appointment of additional one-time payments to pensioners and the military will not affect the situation, said the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov. In September, pensioners will receive 10 thousand rubles each, and servicemen, cadets and security officials – 15 thousand rubles each.

“The central bank and government keep this issue under strict control. In this case, we can say with confidence that the measures taken are more than enough to guarantee the provision of macroeconomic stability, ”said Mr. Peskov during a press call. He noted that analysts have no consensus about the impact of payments on inflationary processes.

President Vladimir Putin proposed to appoint payments to pensioners and military personnel during a meeting with representatives of the United Russia party on August 22. Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the payments would require about 500 billion rubles. On August 24, the president proposed extending payments to all Russian military personnel, including cadets and law enforcement officers.
