Provides pet travel courses and parenting know-how
‘Playwork’, a pet care edutech company, announced on the 26th that it has launched ‘Pet Play AI’, an AI chatbot service based on pet owner content.
In an era where there are 15 million pet owners, it is not easy to obtain know-how to raise pets compared to the increasing number of people raising pets. According to the Korea Tourism Organization, when traveling with pets, the information sources used are pet-related communities (38.9%) and pet-related blog content (38.1%), so information is obtained through content left by pet owners.
‘Pet Play AI’ aims to solve this imbalance in pet owners’ information acquisition and provides answers in descriptive form when easily asked about know-how in raising pets through generative AI and AI chatbot based on pet genuine content. It is an AI chatbot specialized in providing information on pet raising know-how based on OPEN AI’s GPT-4, which has the best performance among generative LLMs, and NAVER HYPERCLOVAX, a Korean-style generative LLM.
In addition, in order to prevent hallucination (a phenomenon of providing incorrect information), which is the biggest problem with existing AI chatbots, we select and learn only the content of users who are genuine about pets based on patented technology, and remove advertising-related postings to ensure high-quality pets. Provides parenting know-how information.
Playwork CEO Lim Seon-young said, “Thanks to the positive response from pet owners to our AI chatbot that recommends pet travel courses, we have launched a pet-specialized AI chatbot service that integrates pet-rearing know-how,” adding, “We have launched a pet-specific AI chatbot service that integrates pet-rearing know-how.” “We will develop into a service that helps shape culture,” he said.

How does Lim Seon-young envision the role of AI in shaping the future of pet ownership and education?
Interview between Time.news Editor and Playwork CEO Lim Seon-young
Editor: Welcome, Lim Seon-young! It’s great to have you here. Your company, Playwork, has recently launched the ‘Pet Play AI’ chatbot. Can you tell us what inspired the creation of this AI service?
Lim Seon-young: Thank you for having me! The inspiration came from the significant gap in pet ownership knowledge among the 15 million pet owners in Korea. Many people resort to online communities and blogs for information, but the quality can vary greatly. We wanted to provide a reliable source that leverages AI to curate and deliver accurate pet care know-how.
Editor: It sounds like a valuable tool for pet owners. Can you explain how ’Pet Play AI’ works and what makes it different from existing AI chatbots?
Lim Seon-young: Absolutely! Our AI chatbot is powered by cutting-edge technology, including OpenAI’s GPT-4 and NAVER’s HYPERCLOVAX. What sets it apart is our patented technology that filters out advertisements and focuses solely on genuine content related to pets. By training the AI on high-quality information, we minimize the chances of misinformation, often referred to as “hallucination” in AI.
Editor: That’s impressive! With so many pet owners relying on community-generated content, it seems crucial to ensure high-quality information. Can you share how you plan to develop this service further?
Lim Seon-young: We have ambitious plans! Beyond providing answers to pet care questions, we aim to develop features that help pet owners plan travel with their pets effectively. We want to shape a culture around responsible pet ownership, creating a community of informed pet owners who can share experiences and learn from each other through our platform.
Editor: Speaking of travel, you mentioned that the AI also recommends pet travel courses. How does that feature work?
Lim Seon-young: Yes, the travel recommendation feature is integrated into the chatbot. Based on user queries, it can suggest tailored travel courses that are pet-friendly, ensuring a great experience for both the owner and their furry friends. This helps promote the idea that travel with pets can be enjoyable and manageable.
Editor: What has the initial feedback been like from pet owners using ‘Pet Play AI’?
Lim Seon-young: We’ve been thrilled with the positive feedback! Owners appreciate the ease of accessing accurate information, particularly in a time when pet ownership is skyrocketing. It’s encouraging to see that our chatbot has been well-received, which reinforces our commitment to evolving the service further.
Editor: what is your vision for the future of pet care education through technology?
Lim Seon-young: My vision is to create an accessible platform that empowers pet owners with knowledge and community support. I believe technology, like AI, can transform how we approach pet care, making it easier and more enjoyable. We want to cultivate a society where animals are well cared for and owners feel confidently equipped to handle their pet-related challenges.
Editor: Thank you, Lim Seon-young, for sharing your insights. It’s clear that ‘Pet Play AI’ has the potential to revolutionize pet ownership experiences. We’re excited to see how it develops!
Lim Seon-young: Thank you for the opportunity to discuss our project! I look forward to sharing more updates soon.
