Peter Sagan was sentenced by a Monaco court for driving while intoxicated. The Slovakian was sentenced to a three-month suspended prison sentence and lost his driver’s license for a year.

The event happened on the morning of May 12, when Sagan was subjected to a control in which his values ​​were above the legal limit allowed.

According to the broker, he had been at a party the night before and had to keep an appointment in the morning. When he got up, alcohol was still circulating through his body in excessive amounts.

Upon being convicted, the prosecution explained to Sagan that as a public figure he has to set an example and that he should have thought about it. The leader of Total Energies will participate in his last Tour de France in the coming days.
