ServusTV has a new head of entertainment. Peter Wolfgruber takes over the job from Martin Gastinger with immediate effect, the Salzburg private broadcaster announced in a broadcast. He is responsible for the development and implementation of all entertainment formats. Gastinger is leaving the broadcaster and recently confirmed his application as head of entertainment at ORF, giving him good chances.
“I am very pleased that we were able to fill this important position at ServusTV with a programmer from our own ranks,” says ServusTV Director Ferdinand Wegscheider. Wolfgruber has been with ServusTV for more than nine years. Before that, he worked for various companies such as MPS Medienproduktion, Disney Channel and DMG as an author, editor, production manager and producer.
Gastinger, who has been responsible for expanding entertainment at ServusTV since 2018, established the “quiz hunt” in the private broadcaster’s evening program. Since the format was introduced in 2019 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., ServusTV’s market share has increased from 1.8 percent to 7.5 percent.
