The warehouse in St. Petersburg received the first batch of the coronavirus vaccine for adolescents in the amount of 2280 dose sets, TASS reports citing the press service of the city health committee.
In the near future, the Sputnik M vaccine will be distributed to district clinics where vaccination points operate. Teenagers will be vaccinated at 83 points, they are ready to receive, the report says. As a larger batch of vaccine arrives, vaccination stations will be set up in schools.
Earlier it was reported that the third phase of clinical trials of the drug is underway in Moscow. In the course of the study, 1500 teenagers were vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine, 1200 children were fully vaccinated.
The vaccine “Sputnik M” for children aged 12-17, developed by the Center. Gamalei, was registered on December 24 last year. On the same day, the first two batches of the drug were released into civilian circulation. The effectiveness of the drug was about 93%.
