Petition in the Collector’s office for basic facilities

Tirupur :

The villagers of Matheswara Nagar under Tirupur Pongalur Union have given a petition today at the Tirupur Collector’s office. In it they have said:- The government has purchased land for us through the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department in 2013-2014 and allotted a house to us who do not have a place.

We are lower class members of Hindu caste, some of us have built houses at our own expense and some of us are living in huts. Considering that we did not vote for him in the 2019 panchayat elections, the panchayat president has so far refused to provide basic facilities such as house tax, house number, drinking water facility, street light facility. They refuse to buy if they go to pay house tax. Drinking water facility is not provided.

Also, in the Jal Jeevan project, the dream project of the Prime Minister of India for this year, he has made Alakmalai Chittoor (village) included in Alakmalai Panchayat, but he has prevented us and Matheswara Nagar from getting the benefit of this scheme.

When we have to allot houses under the Housing for All scheme for this year, he scolds us harshly saying that no matter who you go to, they cannot give you a house. Therefore, we request you to please provide us with the documents to get us a house, to get drinking water through the Jal Jeevan scheme, and to buy house tax from us.

This is what they have said in the petition.
