Chennai: In the ongoing case of actor Sivakarthikeyan regarding salary arrears, a petition has been filed in the High Court to remove the income tax.
Petition filed by Sivakarthikeyan in the High Court: An agreement was reached between me and Gnanavel Raja, the owner of Studio Green Films, to act in the film Mr. Local in 2018. Accordingly, a salary of 15 crore rupees was fixed. For me, only 11 crore rupees was paid. The remaining 4 crore rupees has to be paid.
The petitioner should be directed to pay the salary arrears and pay the amount due to the Income Tax Department.
A new contract was signed in 2018 and Sivakarthikeyan was paid a salary of Rs 15 crore and paid Rs 12.78 crore. I lost 20 crore rupees. Sivakarthikeyan was compelled to pay the remaining amount along with taxes. The answer is stated in the petition.
The petition came up for hearing before Judge M. Sundar. The petition, filed on behalf of the Income Tax Department, said, “The Income Tax Department does not know anything about the problem between the two. It has nothing to do with the department.” Therefore, in the case of Sivakarthikeyan, the income tax department should be removed. The judge adjourned the case till the 18th.
