Petrobras (PETR3)(PETR4) reached a new quarterly production record in the pre-salt basin, from April to June, with the mark of 2.06 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. The numbers are in the Production and Sales Reportreferring to the second quarter of this year.

The volume represents 78% of the company’s total production and surpasses the previous record of 2.05 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, recorded in the first quarter of this year.

The average production of oil, natural gas liquid (NGL) and natural gas recorded a slight reduction of 1.5% in the quarter, compared to the previous quarter, and reached 2.64 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

The drop was mainly due to stoppages and maintenance, in addition to the natural decline of mature fields and divestments, according to the state-owned company.

“These effects were partially offset by the ramp-up [etapa de início da produção, com finalidade de comercializar um produto novo] of the P-71, in the Itapu field, and the start of production, in May, of the Floating Production, Storage and Transfer Units (FPSO) Almirante Barroso, in the Búzios field, and Anna Nery, in the Marlim field, in addition to new wells of complementary projects, in the Campos Basin”, informed the oil company, in a note.

Gasoline production grew 7.40% in the second quarter, in relation to the previous period, while diesel production also grew in the last quarter: 9.70% in relation to the period from January to March.
