Motorists are shocked as petrol and diesel prices continue to rise. From November 5 last year, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged at Rs 101.81 per liter and Rs 91.88 per liter, respectively.

In this context, petrol and diesel prices in India have started rising eight days ago. On March 22, petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 76 paise per liter. After 137 days, petrol and diesel prices have continued to rise.

In Chennai, petrol price today rose by 75 paise to Rs 106.69 per liter and diesel by 76 paise to Rs 96.76 per liter. Thus motorists are in shock.

In Delhi, petrol price has gone up from Rs 100.21 per liter to Rs 101.01 per liter and diesel from Rs 91.47 per liter to Rs 92.27 per liter.

In Mumbai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 115.88 and Rs 100.10 respectively. In Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs 110.52 and diesel at Rs 95.42.

Oil companies set petrol, diesel and cooking gas cylinder prices based on the prevailing international crude oil prices and the value of the Indian rupee against the dollar. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices are expected to rise further due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war environment.
