Oil companies set petrol, diesel prices on the basis of international crude oil prices and the value of the Indian rupee against the dollar.
Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices have been rising steadily over the past few days.
In that category, a liter of petrol was sold for 110 rupees 9 rupees and diesel for 100 rupees 18 rupees in Chennai yesterday.
In this situation, petrol and diesel prices have increased in Chennai even today. Accordingly petrol price has been increased by 76 paise per liter to 110 rupees 85 paise and diesel by 76 paise per liter to 100 rupees 94 paise.
Motorists are suffering as petrol and diesel prices continue to rise.
