New Delhi: Petrol Diesel Price Hike: Fuel prices are skyrocketing in the country. Petrol price was hiked by 87 paise per liter and diesel by 84 paise today. The new rate came into effect from midnight.

After a long hiatus, petrol and diesel prices are rising every day. Thus, the daily surge in fuel prices may lead to an increase in the prices and prices of essential commodities and public transport in the country. Fuel prices, which started after a gap of 137 days, continue to rise.

Fuel prices have not risen for the past four months following elections in five states. A week after the results were announced, there were reports that fuel prices would rise sharply, but oil companies began raising prices a week later. It is reported that there will be further increase in fuel prices in the coming days.

The price of crude oil, which last fluctuated before the election, was around $ 82, and is now hovering around $ 120. Therefore, the price may go up further. Companies like Indian Oil Corporation, BPCL and HPCL lost $ 2.25 billion. That is 19000 crore Indian rupees.

In the national capital, petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by 80 paise each. With this, petrol is priced at Rs 102.61 and diesel at Rs 93.87. In Mumbai, the financial capital of India, petrol and diesel prices rose by 85 paise to Rs 117.57 and Rs 101.79 respectively.
