New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices in the country have been hiked by Rs. Petrol price was hiked by 87 paise per liter and diesel by 84 paise. In the last 16 days, petrol prices have gone up by more than Rs. During the same period, diesel price was hiked by Rs 9 and 41 paise. Yesterday, petrol was hiked by 44 paise and diesel by 42 paise.

In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol was priced at Rs 116 32 paise per liter and diesel at Rs 103 per liter. In Kochi, a liter of petrol will cost 114 rupees 20 paise and diesel 101 rupees 11 paise on Tuesday. In Kozhikode, petrol was priced at Rs 114 49 paise and diesel at Rs 101 42 paise.

Fuel prices have risen across the country. Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state, depending on local tax developments.

This is the thirteenth price increase since the end of a four-and-a-half month long hiatus on March 22.

With the start of the election campaign in five states, including Uttar Pradesh, on November 4, 2021, petrol and diesel prices have stabilized. The 137-day record freeze ended on March 22nd. Since then, petrol and diesel prices have continued to rise.

Jet fuel prices rose 2 percent on Friday. This is the seventh consecutive increase this year. Jet fuel prices have reached an all-time high, reflecting the surge in global energy prices.

On Saturday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan posted a Facebook post demanding the immediate intervention of the Central Government to tackle ‘uncontrolled fuel inflation’ in the country.

Prices have been frozen since November 4, ahead of assembly elections in five states. During this period, the price of crude oil increased by $ 30 per barrel. According to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the rise in fuel prices was due to disruptions in the supply chain and rising global oil prices following the war in Ukraine.

Rates have been increased across the country. Each state varies according to local tax developments. On March 22, after a four-and-a-half month long hiatus from the rate revision, prices had risen nine times.
