Over 850 cyclists from 16 countries in the second edition of the emblematic tour near Velingrad

For the second year in a row, Velingrad hosted the L’Etape Bulgaria by Tour de France cycling competition for amateurs, unique for Bulgaria. More than 850 cyclists from 16 countries took part in the race. The organizers proposed 2 distances – 57 km and 102 km.

The winner among the men in the short distance is Nikolay Mihailov – the only Bulgarian to finish the Giro Italy, and among the women, the fastest was Ioana Valkanova, who repeated her victory from last year.

In the men’s 102 km race, Teodor Rusev triumphed with a big lead over Emil Stoynev, third was Borislav Dobrev. These cyclists also shared their jerseys: yellow for Teodor Rusev and white with red dots for Borislav Dobrev for the youngest participant. The green jersey went to Vencislav Venkov.

In the women’s long distance race, Petya Minkova won, Ukrainian Elena Dobranitsia came in second, and Iveta Kostadinova finished third. The emblematic jerseys of the Tour de France – yellow, green and white with red dots went to the winner Petya Minkova.
