A PF (Federal Police) arrested in Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sulthe main suspect for the hacker attack on the Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region (TRF3), based in São Paulo. The investigations, carried out within the scope of the Operation Cyber Escalation, resulted in the hacker being sentenced to a sentence of nine years in prison, for committing the crimes of hacking a computer device and falsifying a public document. The arrest was issued by the Court of the 7th Federal Criminal Court of São Paulo, in December 2021. However, the hacker has remained at large since May 2021, when the PF operation was launched. The man was arrested this Sunday morning, the 17th. Two years ago, he was responsible for carrying out a cyber attack on the PJe system of the Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region. According to the corporation, the suspect aimed to alter electronic signature documents of public agents to obtain personal advantages. “The hacker, after invading the electronic judicial process system, falsified legal opinions MPF (Federal Public Ministry) in six cases that were being processed in the TRF3, in which he himself was the defendant, changing the prosecutors’ statements with a suggestion of acquittal instead of the originally proposed conviction”, informed the PF. The Federal Police investigation was opened after two Federal Court magistrates in São Paulo detected changes to documents, with fraudulent use of their digital signatures. The hacker forged electronic signatures of judges, court officials and members of the MPF, in addition to altering documents in at least eight cases, two civil and six criminal. The objective, in addition to criminal self-acquittal, would be the release and consequent appropriation of amounts pending in legal actions for accounts controlled by him. The hacker was also wanted internationally, due to the inclusion of his name in the red broadcast of the Interpol.
