And article of APM News published on October 11 reveals that in 2022, more than half of the cases of adverse effects collected and recorded by the regional pharmacovigilance centers (CRPV) are linked to anti-Covid-19 vaccines, according to the annual report of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) published Wednesday October 4.

Pharmacovigilance centers record cases reported by patients, doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

The number of reported cases tripled in 2021, driven by mass vaccination. In 2022, the number of reports decreased by 40%, reaching 102,221 cases, of which 42,336 represented serious adverse reactions.

Nearly 42% of reports come from patients, while 38% are made by doctors. These figures also include monitoring of patients who have already reported side effects.

Pharmaceutical laboratories, for their part, reported 41,467 new cases, including 13,385 serious adverse effects.

In response, the ANSM opened five new pharmacovigilance investigations, in addition to the 67 investigations still in progress.
