jpnn.com – Towards the end of the 2019–2023 Perbasi management period, a training program for young basketball players entitled 94 Feet of The Game Indonesia Basketball Camp 2024 was held.

Not half-heartedly, LA Lakers assistant coach Phil Handy was brought to Indonesia to train young basketball players.

This was revealed by the manager of the Indonesian women’s national basketball team, Christopher Tanuwidjaja, who plans to bring in the coach who was born on August 24, 1971 at the end of September.

“At first I was contacted by coach Phil (Handy) whether there was a schedule to train in Indonesia. At that time I then reported to Susuk (Danny Kosasih) and without further ado immediately agreed to create a training program.”

“It is not easy to bring coach Phil to Jakarta because in the United States his price tag is very expensive. For that, it is a rare opportunity for players who can be trained by him,” said the man who is familiarly called Itop in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/9/2024).

Phil Handy’s arrival was actually a long-standing wish of the late Danny Kosasih.

It is hoped that with a coach of Phil Handy’s caliber, he will be able to develop the fundamentals of young basketball players in Indonesia.

“Later, this training program will be for basketball players who already have basic basketball skills. The players will be divided into four sessions, each session consisting of 35 people,” said the former manager of CLS Knight Surabaya.
