Phil Spencer: We want a steady stream of great games – – Gamereactor

by time news

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios has grown rapidly since 2018, acquiring well-known developers such as Obsidian Entertainment, Ninja Theory, Playground Games, as well as ZeniMax/Bethesda, and soon to become the owner of Activision Blizzard.

But developing games takes time, and some of these new studios already have projects to release to other formats and to find another publisher, which must be done first. As a result, we haven’t really seen a lot of output from all of the aforementioned developers, and Spring 2022 will be fairly light on first-party games for Xbox gamers.

Luckily Xbox exec Phil Spence acknowledged this and mentioned in the XboxEra Podcast that it’s something they’re trying to change, since there should be a steady stream of big games:

“We do have a lot of great games in development… We want to get to the point where there’s a steady stream of great games that our customers can expect… We’re going through this right now process, you know,[而且]We don’t have a major game this season — so Matt Booty and the team, and the ZeniMax team… want to get to the point where we really have a great onboarding channel for our own platform and games, so that you guys can have regular feedback on this Thing to get excited about. “

So far, Microsoft has revealed AAA titles like Redfall and Starfield this year, but they may have more to reveal this summer. Most insiders and rumors seem to point to a new Forza Motorsport game.
