The gondola of his dreams. VeniSIA (https://www.venisia.org/), the business accelerator of Ca ‘Foscari University, today presented the work of creator Philippe Starck who, at the request of Marco Balich, created the’ Dream of Winter gondola to Venice ‘.
The 3D image will be part of the Ca ‘Foscari University collection, where thousands of students will be able to study and appreciate it.
VeniSIA is based in Venice and is dedicated to the development of business ideas and technological solutions capable of facing climate change and various environmental challenges.
The creator, who considers himself a permanent citizen of Burano for 50 years, has been invited by Marco Balich, a member of VeniSIA of which he is supporting creative initiatives and strategies for innovation, to be the first of many international creatives to participate in VeniSIA, the business accelerator part of Venice, the World Capital of Sustainability, a project supported by the Veneto Region and the Italian Government. Philippe Starck has created a symbol that blends the identity of Italian beauty and heritage with his talent to convey a message of worldwide resonance.
“I have a lot of admiration and respect for the gondola, one of the most complex boats in the world with its completely asymmetrical design but which nevertheless perfectly balances its weight and can navigate easily even in the most difficult conditions. It’s magic, it’s pure magic. This is why it is a great honor for me to imagine a dream gondola and, above all, a winter gondola with a small room in the center. That’s why what I show today is not trying to be realistic but is just a dream. The technical specifications of the gondola that I thought of are interesting: durable and hi-tech materials and technologies (algae bioresins, compressed bamboo, gyroscopic stabilizer powered by solar energy, electric assistance with mini electric turbine powered by solar energy and hydrogenerator, etc. ) ”, Explains creator Philippe Starck.
