jpnn.com – Philippines coach Josep Maria Ferre will lead his team to face the Indonesian U-19 National Team in the first match of the 2024 ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship or the AFF U-19 Cup.
The Indonesia vs Philippines duel will be held at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Monday (17/7/2024) evening WIB.
Josep Ferre realized that Indonesia is a tough team.
The Spanish coach said that Garuda Nusantara – the nickname of the Indonesian U-19 National Team – has a number of advantages, such as more mature preparation and a competitive team.
“They (the U-19 National Team, ed.) have good players. I was very surprised by the good work of the Indonesian team. Moreover, they prepared this tournament well.”
“I think our team only prepared for 3 months. However, we continue to develop for this tournament,” said Ferre.
The Philippines and Indonesia are in Group A of the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup.
They will compete with teams such as Timor Leste and Cambodia.
