Philips says it has reached an agreement on damages for customers in the United States who used sleep apnea devices that turned out to be defective. The medical technology company will pay them at least 479 million dollars (448 million euros). There have been numerous US lawsuits over a major recall of sleep apnea devices that can cause insulating foam to crumble.
