The first week of the new year witnessed the launch of many phones in India, as well as globally. These launches featured a range of high-end and entry-level smartphones from the likes of Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus, and more. In this article, we will take a look at all the recent smartphone releases that took place during the first week of January.

While the global unveiling of the OnePlus 11 is scheduled for February, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer launched the flagship device in its home country during the first week of January itself. In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 11 features a large 6.7-inch curved screen with a resolution of 2K AMOLED with support for a refresh rate of 120Hz. Many display features such as HDR10+, LTPO 3.0 and Dolby Vision as well. Running under the hood is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage. The smartphone also comes with improved optics over its predecessor which includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 32MP telephoto lens, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. The 16MP front lens takes care of selfies and video chats. The OnePlus 11 runs on Android 13-based ColorOS 13 and gets its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit that supports 100W fast charging.

Xiaomi kicked off the year with the launch of the Redmi Note 12 series. The lineup consists of the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ with cameras and screen being the primary focus across all three smartphones. While the Redmi Note 12 is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset. A 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support is present across all three devices.

Coming to the rear cameras, the Redmi Note 10 Pro+ packs in a massive 200MP primary sensor while the Redmi Note 10 Pro features a 50MP IMX766 sensor as the primary camera along with OIS. There is also an 8MP macro lens and a 2MP macro lens on both smartphones. Coming to the Redmi Note 12’s optics, it rocks a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Finally, all Redmi Note 12 models pack a 5,000mAh battery with 33W, 67W, and 120W fast charging on the Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Note 12 Pro+, respectively.

Said to be the successor of the Redmi 10C, the smartphone runs on the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The 50MP rear camera takes care of photography while the 5MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. Powering the Redmi 12C is a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged using the 10W adapter inside the box.

POCO C50 has landed in India with an affordable price of Rs 6,499. The phone features a 6.52-inch HD display with a dewdrop notch to house a 5MP selfie camera. For the main camera, the POCO C50 is equipped with an 8MP rear camera. Powering the show is the MediaTek Helio A12 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of RAM on the base version. This budget phone runs on Android 12 Go version and has a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

Another budget smartphone that debuted in India this week is the Samsung Galaxy F04. The device is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P35 processor supported by 64 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM. Finally, the Galaxy F04 runs on Android 12 with the custom One UI skin on top and gets power from a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
