Photo Festival of Author’s Photography expands its borders: works were sent even from Berlin

45 participants – from Narva, Tartu, Tallinn, Kohtla-Järve, Jõhvi, Maardu, Viljandi and distant Berlin, more than 400 works – this is about the AutoriFotode Biennaal 2023 Photo Festival of Author’s Photography, which took place on June 3 and 4 in Narva. The photography festival is the brainchild of the Narva NGO AutoriFoto. The current one is the second one. And judging by the increased number of participants (the first one, in 2021, brought together 30 photography lovers) and the expansion of the geography from which the works were presented, it is gaining popularity.

The winners are: nomination “Landscape” – Andrey Nikitin (Narva), nomination “Seascape” – Sergey Nekhozhin (Narva-Jõesuu), nomination “Urban Landscape (Architecture)” – Elle Mets (Tartu), nomination “Portrait” – Olga Zakharova (Narva), nomination “Life of Objects” – Dmitry Vorobyov (Jõhvi), nomination “Reportage” – Dietmar Buhrer (Berlin), nomination “Animalistics” – Georg Terras (Tallinn), nomination “Author’s Collection” – Elina Mellov (Tallinn) , nomination “Macro” – Alesya Matrosova (Narva), nomination “Experiment” – Urve Hermann (Tallinn).

The works of the participants could be seen last weekend in the large hall of the House of Nations in Narva, which became the exhibition site of AutoriFotode Biennaal 2023. The works of the winners can be seen soon on the organizers’ website: www.autorifoto.eu and on the social network FB .

The festival also included a creative meeting with photographer Jaan Künnap, a friendly meeting on the topic “Modern photography – what is it”, the opening of the exhibition “With a camera in nature is a pleasure” by Peeter Sink at the Geneva Cultural Center, photo plein airs on the territory of the former Krenholm Manufactory , in Narva-Jõesuu, in Narva.

According to Irina Kivimäe, head of MTÜ AutoriFoto, the next AutoriFotode Biennaal will take place in 2025.
