The celebration of New Year’s Eve this year, as in the past, took place in the Akkeküla recreation area. From 5 p.m. until late in the evening on June 23, music did not stop on Orekhovaya Gorka. The folklore ensemble “Supryadki” with Vladimir Cherdakov and the dance group “Yun-Ost”, beloved by the Narvitians, took part in the concert program.
During the day competitions with prizes were held. Women wove wreaths at master classes, and men shot from a bow, children frolicked in a large children’s area on trampolines. And any participant of the holiday could cheer himself up on the tubing – on the day of the holiday it was free. Well, what is Jan’s night without meat dishes? Therefore, there was a lot of delicious food on the food track, the smell of barbecue and grilled meat penetrated all corners of Akkeküla.
At 20:00, the pond was lit up with a bonfire flame – it seems that lighting a bonfire in this place is already becoming a tradition: both beautiful and safe. The celebration did not end with the lighting of the bonfire: the Canadian-Estonian band WILL BLACK & WHITE performed before the public, performing popular hits of the last 60 years in Estonian and English.
