Photo requirements for diagnostic cards have been corrected – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Taking pictures of cars during technical inspection will be different. The frame should include not only the machine, but also the expert technician himself against its background. The Ministry of Transport established new requirements for such photographs by its order. True, they will not begin to act tomorrow. The order comes into force on March 1 of the next year.

As a reminder, the requirements for photo images of cars at technical inspection appeared on March 1 of this year. It was assumed that photographs of cars, and even with the coordinates of the shooting location, would protect the vehicle inspection from trading in diagnostic cards without diagnosing the cars. According to the current rules, there should be two photos. The first one is a picture of the car in front, so that you can make out the type, make, model, color and registration number. The second, which is done at the end of the diagnosis, is a rear view of the car with the same conditions.

According to the new rules, in the first photo, the car should be shot so that the frame includes its front part and one of the sides. On the second – the back and the other side. In addition, the frame should include an expert “full-length, facing the camera.” It is also spelled out that the use of any photo effects and image editing is not allowed. Apparently, the department believes that in this way the sale of diagnostic cards will definitely end.

In addition to the car, there must be a full-length expert in the photo, facing the camera.

But these measures are unlikely to protect the inspection from Photoshop. An experienced master will draw a picture in such a way that it will be possible to distinguish it from a real one only by special means. But they will definitely create additional problems for operators. Who will film the expert in front of the car if he is alone at the maintenance point? We’ll have to hire someone else for these purposes.

It has been said more than once that there are simpler ways to make it impossible to fake photos. One of them is implemented in the “Compulsory MTPL Assistant”. In this product, uncorrected accident photos are taken, which are sent immediately to the insurers. It is impossible to fake them because the user does not have access to the image. But, of course, such a product costs money. And no one wants to spend money on technical inspection. That is, not only car owners, who consider TO as an additional tax, do not have it, but also the departments responsible for it.
