The solo exhibition “Silicy” by photographer Fulvio Bugani was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam (1973-2023). The exhibition takes place from August 17 to 31 at Casa Italia, 18 Le Phung Hieu Street, Hanoi.

Secluded from the bustling cities of Italy, Sicily embodies the slow, peaceful pace of life, likened to the calm waves of the Mediterranean. A rhythm of life that follows the sweltering heat of the sun when the day rises and the silence when the day ends. Sicily’s separation can be a blessing, but it can also disrupt human emotions. The largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily is an autonomous region of Italy with a rich and complex history spanning thousands of years. Sicily was once ruled by many civilizations including Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, and Spanish. Each civilization has left an indelible mark on the island’s culture, architecture and cuisine.

Today, Sicily is always a tourist destination full of charm with romantic beaches, beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage. Through his lens, Fulvio Bugani captures the unique beauty of this island, immersing viewers in unique stories and emotions that only Sicily can bring.
