This Thursday (26) saw prices closer to stability for the pig market. According to Cepea analysis, the pace of pork sales decreased in the domestic market in the second half of October – which is typical for the period, given the population’s lower purchasing power.

In São Paulo, according to Scot Consultoria, the average price of a CIF pig remained stable, costing, on average, R$ 123.00, as well as the special carcass, with a value of R$ 9.50/kg, average.

According to information from Cepea/Esalq on the Live Pig Indicator, referring to Wednesday (25), there was a timid increase of 0.15% in Minas Gerais, reaching R$ 6.47/kg, and a decrease of 0.82 % in Santa Catarina, reaching R$6.03/kg. Prices remained stable in Paraná (R$6.20/kg), Rio Grande do Sul (R$6.19/kg), and São Paulo (R$6.57/kg).

The prices of independent pig farming in the main markets that sell the animal independently behaved differently this Thursday (26). The only modest increase was recorded in Paraná, with an appreciation of 0.31% throughout the week.
