PILARES and Uber launch historic mentoring program for graduates of the School of Code

In a joint effort to promote young talent and promote the link between the academic training and the business sectorthe Community Education Subsystem PILARES and Uber Mexico launched the first Mentoring Program todaya historic initiative that will benefit 20 outstanding graduates of the Code School.

This program, the result of an agreement signed last February, will allow the selected young people to participate in various enriching activities, such as:

Planning Boards: Where they can collaborate and contribute their ideas in defining strategies for the company.

Dialogues and mentoring: Where they will receive valuable guidance and advice from experienced Uber executives.

Application of knowledge: They will have the opportunity to put their programming skills into practice on real company projects.

Recognition of collaboration and talent

During the opening ceremony, the General Coordinator ofl PILARES SubsystemJavier Hidalgo Ponce expressed his gratitude to Uber for its commitment to the professional development of young graduates.

“I recognize Uber for looking at what is being done in PILLARS“, a unique educational model in the world that has managed to establish 150 Code Schools where knowledge of technology, programming and other areas is taught,” said Hidalgo Ponce.

For his part, the General Director of Uber MexicoJuan Pablo Eiroa, highlighted the importance of collaboration between public and private institutions to generate a positive impact on the community.

“This initiative is an example that things can be done well when the public and private sectors work together. For Uber, PILARES is an exemplary program worldwide and we are proud to be part of this project,” said Eiroa.

Opportunities for the future

The selected graduates expressed their enthusiasm for this new experience that will allow them to apply their knowledge and gain work experience in a global company like Uber.

“I am very excited to start this program and be able to put into practice what I learned at the Code School,” said Guadalupe Ayala, a graduate of PILARES “San Simón Tolnahuac.”

The first Mentorship Program The program will be held in two three-month periods, each with groups of 10 graduates. It is planned that this initiative will continue in the future, giving more young people the opportunity to strengthen their skills and make their way in the professional world.
