Pilgrims on Mount Arafat to perform the most important rite of Hajj

Mount Arafat – Pilgrims began gathering on Tuesday on Mount Arafat to perform, in an atmosphere of piety and contemplation, the most important rite of the pilgrimage, calling on the Almighty to grant them grace and mercy.

Located about 20 km from Mecca, Mount Arafat, also known as Jabal Al-Rahma (Mount of Mercy), is a granite hill rising to a height of almost 70 meters.

The convoys to Arafat are supervised by elements of different security forces who accompany the pilgrims and help them to perform this rite in the best conditions.

Coming from all over the world, the pilgrims also benefited from medical, emergency and catering services provided by the various government sectors mobilized for this purpose.

Today, pilgrims perform Ad-Dohr and Al-Asr prayers, shortened and grouped with a single call (adhan) but two iqamas, in the Namira Mosque, thus following the Sunnah of the Prophet Sidna Muhammad (PBUH). At sunset, they will stream towards Muzdalifah where they will perform the Maghrib and Al Isha prayers.
