A small plane lands unannounced at an airport in Lower Bavaria. A flight instructor is surprised and informs the police. They quickly find the reason for the unannounced landing.
A pilot illegally flew four migrants across the German border into Lower Bavaria in a small plane. The 39-year-old pilot landed his Cessna in Pfarrkirchen (Rottal-Inn district) on Sunday without prior notice, the federal police said. A flight instructor informed the police about the landing.
The federal police said that the police have not yet found one of the four suspected migrants despite a search by helicopter. The other three are Iraqi nationals and did not have any identification with them.
The Federal Police are investigating the pilot for human trafficking under life-threatening conditions, as the plane, which is presumably carrying five people, is only approved for four, and for violations of aviation law. The three Iraqis arrested were reportedly charged with illegal entry.
According to initial findings, the Federal Police say the plane took off in Bulgaria and flew via Hungary and Austria to Germany.
