Indonesian Poultry Association Urges Government to Review Livestock Law
The Indonesian People’s Poultry Association (Pinsar) held its 6th National Conference on August 10th in Yogyakarta, with the theme “Strengthening the Sovereignty of Smallholder Farmers Towards Golden Indonesia 2045.” The conference urged the government and the Indonesian House of Representatives to revise the Animal Husbandry Law.
Pinsar expressed concern over the current state of the poultry industry, citing oversupply and declining demand as major challenges faced by farmers.
The conference also highlighted the need for the government to support smallholder farmers and ensure their sovereignty in the agricultural sector.
The General Chairman of Pinsar, Singgih Januratmoko, emphasized the importance of the conference in the context of the new government’s policies to provide free milk and nutritious food to school children.
The conference concluded with a reaffirmation of Pinsar’s commitment to advocating for the aspirations and hopes of smallholder farmers.
