Pipe filled with animal excrement, rotting hedgehog for food; the story of Haji who did not bathe

by time news

KuA man who believed he would die if touched. Living in that misunderstanding for seven decades without bathing. Finally, the locals forcibly took the bath. Death soon after. This is about Amou Haji, a resident of Dejgah, Iran, who died last Sunday. The man withdrew from life, reinforcing his belief that bathing would kill him.

Haji’s life story is very interesting and strange. Haji was dubbed the world’s ‘ugliest man’ by the media. For fifty years, Haji’s strict wisdom was that soap and water did not touch. Haji firmly believed that if he did the opposite, his life would be miserable and he would get sick and die. After that belief, one day the locals forced Haji to take a bath. So Haji touched water for the first time after five decades. Within days, the cold of death was gone. Many times before, the locals tried hard to bathe him but failed. Haji was 94 years old when he passed away yesterday.

Be it in lifestyle or diet, Haji has carved out his life in a very unusual way. He ended up in a single room covered in ashes. In an interview he gave to Tehran Times in 2014, he talks about his life. Favorite food was rotting porcupine. They will also eat animals that have been hit by a car. Animal excrement was filled in the pipe and pulled. Thirst was quenched by drinking water from ponds and old oil cans. He also stated in the interview that he lived in a small hut made of bricks built by the local people in a village called Dejgah in Iran. Many old clothes were kept together to keep warm during the cold season. A helmet will also be worn.

After years of not bathing, Haji’s body was covered with dirt. It is reported that he did not bathe for 70 years. If so, considering Haji’s current age, Haji must have taken a bath for the last time in his twenties. It is said that he stopped bathing after some emotional incident in his youth. Not only that, there are also those who say that Haji was afraid of water. Others say that cleanliness brings disease and therefore they are saving health by living a dirty life. There are many stories that this happened after some disappointment in love. No one has any idea what the real reason is.

The most amazing thing is that Haji was not afflicted with any kind of illness or infection despite living an ‘unclean’ life. Years ago, some health experts in Iran decided to examine Haji. It was a curious decision. They reached Haji’s hut at Dejgah and conducted expert examinations. They could not find a single leaf disease in Haji.

Haji’s habit of smoking cigarettes was also unique. But it was not just big, it could be called a ‘train’. There is a scene in the movie Train where Tovino Thomas smokes a cigarette. A scene where several cigarettes are piled up and lit. A picture of four cigarettes lit together and smoked has gone viral on the internet. One of his favorite pastimes is to pipe animal droppings. If not, he will smoke cigarettes. Eyewitnesses say up to five of them were burned together at a time.

Despite this, Haji’s life was very happy. Haji says something that saddens him the most. It forced all the villagers to bathe and drink good water. Although many people came forward to offer good food, clothing and shelter, he refused all of them.

At the same time, the villagers say that he took care to trim his hair and beard. He used to light a fire to grow his beard and hair long enough. He would then check his innocence by looking in the windshield of a passing car.
