Madrid: Gerard Piqué, who is returning from the Barca field after a long absence, received a red card from the referee in his farewell match. Pique got the red card in the game which secured the first place with a clear five-point lead in the La Liga table after winning against Osasuna.
In the 31st minute, Pique, who was still on the reserve bench, came to the field to protest the second yellow card given to Robert Lewandowski. However, the referee, who did not give in, gave Piqué a red card and sent him off.
Lewandowski has only received a red card twice in his career.
