Pis/Pasep: How to make new withdrawals? More than 4.2 million workers will receive the 2023 PIS/Pasep salary bonus next Monday (the 17th) (base year 2021). According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), R$4.2 billion will be earmarked for the sixth and final batch of payments.

The payment calendar (see at the end) began in February, respecting the worker’s birthday, in the case of the PIS, or the final number of the enrollment in the program, in the case of the Pasep.

The salary bonus is a benefit granted to workers with a formal contract and civil servants. On the 17th, 3.6 million private initiative workers born in November and December will receive the PIS — paid by Caixa Econômica Federal —, while 544,000 public servants with final enrollment numbers 8 and 9 will receive the Pasep, via Banco do Brasil .

Who gets it?

Those who worked for at least one month with formal registration and received, on average, up to two monthly minimum wages in the reference year (in this case, 2021) are entitled to the benefit. The installments vary according to the months worked, that is, only those who worked for 12 months receive the full amount – a minimum wage.

With the increase in the minimum wage, the payment will range from R$110 to R$1,320, according to the number of months worked during the base year 2021.

You must also have been registered with the PIS/Pasep for at least five years and have your data updated by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (Rais). Amounts not received during life by the holders are assured to dependents or legal successors.

How to consult?

To find out if you are entitled to the benefit, the worker needs an authenticated account on the Gov.br portal, if you don’t already have one, or you have to download the Digital Work Card (CTPS Digital) application. The download is free from the App Store and Play Store. After logging in, consult the “Benefits” option in the lower menu and select “Salary allowance”. Another option is to call 158.

For workers in private companies, the Caixa number to find out about PIS is 0800-726-0207.

For civil servants, it is possible to find out about Pasep at the BB call center, by calling 4004-0001 or 0800-729-0001, or by visiting the website bb.com.br. Just fill in the Pasep registration number or CPF and date of birth.

How to receive?

The receipt of amounts is automatic for those who have a checking or savings account at Caixa (in the case of PIS) or at Banco do Brasil (in the case of Pasep).

Those who are not customers should look for financial institutions to withdraw at the cashier. For this, they must carry an official identification document with a photo and the PIS/Pasep number. The registration number can be checked on the Meu INSS website, through the National Register of Social Information (Cnis), in the FGTS application or in the Caixa Trabalhador application.

Other ways to redeem the amount are through the Caixa Tem app or using the Citizen Card with a password at self-service terminals or Caixa Aqui correspondents (in the case of private initiative workers).
