NBA Hands Down Suspensions Following On-Court Altercation
The NBA has levied significant suspensions against four players – Isaiah Stewart, Miles Bridges, Moussa Diabaté, and Jalen Duren – following a physical altercation during a game between the Detroit Pistons and the Charlotte Hornets. The league announced the disciplinary actions on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, citing violations of conduct rules.
A senior official stated the suspensions stem from an incident that occurred with 7:09 remaining in the third quarter of the Pistons’ 110-104 victory over the Hornets on February 9 at Spectrum Center. The incident began with a defensive foul committed by Diabaté on Duren, quickly escalating into a larger confrontation.
Stewart Receives Lengthiest Suspension
Detroit Pistons forward-center Isaiah Stewart will serve the longest suspension, sitting out seven games. The league specifically noted that the length of Stewart’s suspension was “based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.” He was penalized for leaving the bench area and aggressively entering the on-court altercation, ultimately engaging in fighting.
Bridges, Diabaté, and Duren Also Disciplined
In addition to Stewart, Charlotte Hornets forwards Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabaté each received four-game suspensions for their involvement in the fight and for escalating the altercation. Pistons center Jalen Duren will be sidelined for two games, having been determined to have initiated the altercation and participated in the fighting.
All four players were assessed technical fouls and ejected from the game immediately following the incident.
Suspensions Begin Immediately
The suspensions will take effect immediately. Stewart and Duren will begin serving their penalties on Thursday, February 12, 2026, when the Pistons travel to Toronto to face the Raptors at Scotiabank Arena. Simultaneously, Bridges and Diabaté will begin their suspensions as the Hornets host the Atlanta Hawks at Spectrum Center.
