jpnn.comJAKARTA – Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives Habib Aboe Bakar Al Habsyi is ready to encourage the Special Committee for Online Gambling (Judol) to evaluate the performance of banking and non-bank financial institutions related to the rampant cases of judol through the establishment of payment services by judol players.
“The presence of the special committee is to evaluate the performance of banks and non-bank financial institutions that are suspected of helping with this judol payment transaction. We also want to know to what extent Bank Indonesia (BI) has given permission to payment service providers and what is the role of OJK in supervising it?” said Aboe in response to the proposal by the President Director of the Center for Banking Crisis (CBC) Achmad Deni Daruri for the DPR to form a Judol Special Committee in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/7)
This PKS politician admitted that he was concerned about the increasing number of Judol transactions which are increasingly popular among the public, including members of the council.
Moreover, there are many cases of suicide due to judol. Therefore, he will discuss the proposal to form a special committee for judol with friends in the DPR Faction.
“We will conduct socialization with a number of factions so that the Judol Special Committee can be formed and dismantle the practice of Judol payment services which are suspected of being supported by the banking system and non-bank financial institutions,” said Aboe.
Aboe also agreed that the funds from the Judol transaction be returned to the state. This means that the bank is not only limited to blocking the account, but the bank is required to return the funds to the state.
Previously, President Director of the Center for Banking Crisis (CBC) Achmad Deni Daruri asked banks to return judol income to the state and immediately form a Judol Special Committee.
So far, Deni said, Bank Indonesia is suspected of facilitating online gambling permits to transact in banking. Meanwhile, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as the banking supervisor, seems to be neglectful.
