Ahmedabad: Ahead of next month’s IPL Mega Auction 2022, three youngsters have been brought to the Ahmedabad (Ahmedabad franchise) team. Cricinfo reports that the two newcomers to the IPL have selected Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill to join the Ahmedabad team, with the option of selecting three players each from the pool of players to be auctioned. According to the report, Hardik has been given the captaincy of the team.

Apart from these three players, the Ahmedabad team has also reached a final agreement on the coaching staff of the team. Former South African captain Gary Kirstana is also the head coach. Former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra and former England captain and Surrey coach Vikram Solanki are also in the squad.

The two new teams are expected to reveal the names of the three players they acquired before the auction on January 22. There can only be one foreign player out of three. The IPL mega star auction will be held in Bangalore next month.

Hardik, who joined the Mumbai Indians for a base price of Rs 10 lakh in 2015, was paid Rs 11 crore by Mumbai in 2018 when he retained the players. Rashid, who joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017 for Rs 4 crore, was later retained by Hyderabad after paying Rs 9 crore. Shubhman Gill, who arrived in Kolkata in 2018 for Rs 1.8 crore, has been named as their future captain but has been left out of the list of players to be retained at the end of this season.
