Manisha Kalyan has the honor of being the first Indian player to play in the European Women’s Champions League.

In that match, she was selected to play for Cypriot club Apollon Ladies FC. In this case, Manisha also got the chance to play in the first match of Apollon team in the Champions League.

In that match against Latvian club SFK Riga, Manisha was substituted for Cypriot player Marilena Georgiou in the 60th minute. Apollon beat Riga 3-0 in that match.

20-year-old Manisha becomes the 4th Indian player to be signed to play for a foreign club. Manisha has contributed well for the national team and for the Gokulam Kerala team in the Indian Women’s League. Recently, she won the Indian Football Federation’s Player of the Year award for the 2021-22 season.
