An emergency landing ended in a spectacular accident, fortunately without fatalities, at an Aden Adde international airport in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

The events occurred around noon this Tuesday when the crew of a Halla Airlines E120 plane that covered a domestic route between Garowe and Mogadishu declared an emergency and notified the control tower that they needed to make a last-minute landing. .

The runway was cleared for the maneuver; however, when the pilot was finishing landing, he lost control of the plane, which skidded off the runway and hit a wall.

Videos posted on social networks show the exact moment the plane made an unexpected turn on the runway to the right, and although the pilot tried to stabilize it, it ended up crashing. The impact caused a cloud of dust and some parts of the aircraft detached.

Relief agencies immediately arrived at the scene and attended to the four crew members and 30 passengers traveling on the aircraft, including the former prime ministers of that country, Abdiweli Gas and Omar Abdirashid. Only one person was injured.

The Somali Civil Aviation reported, through a statement, that it opened an investigation into what happened.

Another tragic plane crash in Nepal

This is the second air emergency that was registered this Tuesday in the world after a helicopter with six occupants crashed in the district of Solukhumbu, Koshi province, in Nepal, minutes after taking off.

The helicopter lost contact eight minutes after taking off, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said in a statement, which also confirmed that the victims are five Mexicans (three women and two men) and the Nepali pilot.

A local resident who joined the search and rescue efforts said the crash site is “very scary.”

“It appears that the helicopter first collided with a tree and then crashed to the ground. It left a small hole in the ground,” he said.

The aircraft, which belonged to the Manang Air company, took off near Lukla, the entry point for expeditions to climb Everest, and was heading to the capital Kathmandu.
